It will be a great day for snowplay.  With 3-4 inches of snow this week on a current base of snow.  All roads are open with no control in the snowplay areas.  The temperature this morning is 25 so dress warmly.

We will open at 9:30 this morning for all your needs.

Always make sure you carry chains that fit your car and that you know how to install them. Only play in the snow on Public lands, ( stop to see us at Mountain Hardware and we can provide you with a map and info where the best conditions are currently). Please respect private property and do not play there.   You will also need an Adventure Pass $5.00 per day or $30.00 for a year we can supply that for you. Please remember to always pick up and take home any trash as this will make it nicer for the next visitor.

Looks like another great day

We received 2-3 inches of snow in the snowplay areas yesterday.  The current temperature is 14 so dress warmly.  Currently you will need chains or 4 wheel drive with snow tires to get to the snowplay areas.  As I see blues sky this morning I hope that it will warm and the restrictions will be lifted latter.  If they are lifted I will make another post or you are always welcome to call us 760-249-3653.

The snowplay conditions look great.  The roads are open with NO controls (no tire chain needed).  There is high clouds and broken blue sky.  Temperature is about 25 with light wind.

There will be lots of traffic today so plan on arriving early by 8:30 -9:00am or after 2pm.

We are starting to receive snow and it is starting to stick to the roads.  So if you are coming please be ready for winter driving

Another beautiful morning

Yes we have good snowplay.  The weather is great a bit chill about 25 right now with a light wind.  all roads are open with no controls.

The problem you will have to day is traffic I suggest that you be in Wrightwood by 8:30 am or come after 2pm.  By doing this you will miss most traffic.

Starting Jan 7th Monday we will be offering discounts on snow play toys so if you can come during the midweek during that time you will find less traffic.

Good Morning

The snow play conditions are good.  Roads are open and clear NO chains needed.  It is clear Blue sky but cold this morning about 20 right now.  But that is what is keeping the snow play areas in good condition.

The only problem you will have today is the traffic.  If you are not in town by 10 am or after 2pm you should be able to miss most of the traffic.  Also we will be offering discount on snow play toys mid week starting on Jan 7th to encourage you to come up mid week when there are very few people.

Another Great Morning

With 3-4″ of new snow this past week the snow is in good condition.  It is a bit windy today as the last storm moves out and the temp is 20-25 this morning.

The only problem you will have today is the traffic.  There will be lots of people here in Wrighwood enjoying the holiday.  I would suggest that you arrive in  Wrightwood by 8:30am or after 2pm  in the afternoon.  This will help you to miss most of the traffic.  Also if you can wait to come up until the mid week starting  Jan. 7th we will be offering discounts on snow play items.

Make sure you and your car is prepared for winter travel conditions.

Good new 3-4 inches of new snow over night in the snowplay areas.  It is a winter wonderland this morning.

Now for the bad news.  As of this morning chains or 4 wheel drive are required in the snowplay areas.  Also there will be lots of traffic now because of the Christmas Holiday.  So your choices are to come up early be in town by 8:30 or come latter around 2pm to help you miss the traffic problems.

Always make sure you have tire chains and know how to install them and are preparied for winter travel conditions.

I hope everyone had a Great Christmas morning with family and friends.

We still have good snowplay here in the Big Pines area.  The snow is about a week old  so it is a bit hard.  I visited the areas yesterday in the afternoon and people were having fun after the clouds cleared.

Today looks like high clouds so it would be a great day to spend in the mountains playing in the snow.

Mountain Hardware will be closed today (12/25/12) but just up about 1block is Jensen market and WW Mini Mart they are open today and will have everything you will need to have fun in the snow?

We have snow for snowplay.  Last night we did get rain and lots of wind.  So my suggestion would be to wait for a day or so until conditions (weather) improve.

We will be closed tomorrow Christmas Day but both WW Mini Mart and Jensen’s Market will be open just up the street and they both have sleds.
