A beautiful day here is the mountains

4-5 inches of snow yesterday.  The sky is blue with a light wind blowing.  It is very cold this morning so dress warmly.  The road conditions are good up to Big Pines West of Big Pine Tires chains or 4 wheel drive with snow tires are required.  There are places you can get to this morning with out tire chain just stop by the store and we will get the the current info.

Always make sure you carry chains that fit your car and that you know how to install them. Today will be another GREAT snowplay day

The weather today in in the mid 20’s should warm up to the low 40’s.  The sky is blue with some high clouds.  Roads are open and clear NO need for tire chains today.  This would be a great day to come and spend the day in the mountain with your family and friends.  As the weather service is call for a storm coming in on Thrus.

New snow last night

We received 3-5 inches of snow last night in the snowplay areas.  The only problem is you must have tire chains on your car or 4 wheel drive with snow tire to get here.  The roads are very slick this morning.  So today would be better taking care of those home projects you have been putting off.

You can access snowplay area at the Wrightwood Ranch they will charge you $5.00 per person and you bring your own sled.  The good new is that you DO NOT need chains to get to the the Wrightwood Ranch.  If you want to go farther to the west on Hwy #2 there are chain requirements.

Good Morning

We received just a dusting of snow so far.  The weather service is calling for more this afternoon.   That is the good news.  Now the bad news, all roads in the snowplay areas are requiring chains or 4 wheel drive with snow tires .  I do not think that will change today with the forecast of more weather.  So maybe today is a day to stay at home and make plans to come up mid week or next week end.

Another beautiful morning

We have snow for snowplay in the Big Pines area.  The road are open and dry so no need for chains at this time (but make sure you carry them).  It is a bit cold this morning about 25 but this is what is keeping the snow, although it is a bit hard because of the cold temps.

The weather service is calling for a storm coming in late tonight into tomorrow.  So today would be a good choice if you do not like driving in a storm.

Good Morning

I just returned from the snowplay areas.  The conditions still look good.  The weather has been very cold so that has helped to hold the snow.  The snow had gotten a bit hard but everybody is still having fun.  The weather this morning, the sky is blue and light wind with temp about 28.  The roads are open and clear NO chain required today.  Make sure to display a Adventure Pass as we had customers telling us yesterday that they were getting ticket for no Adventure Pass.

Today is clear and a bit cold about 23 in the snowplay areas.  The snow conditions are very good because of the cold weather.  There should be a lot less people today so it would be a great day to come up.
