We received 5-7″ of snow yesterday.  Today has dawned clear with blue sky with a bit of a breeze.  The roads are open with no tire chain controls.  So grab the kids and come on up to a great day in the mountains with NEW snow.

Always make sure you carry chains that fit your car and that you know how to install them. Only play in the snow on Public lands, ( stop to see us at Mountain Hardware and we can provide you with a map and info where the best conditions are currently). Please respect private property and do not play there.   You will also need an Adventure Pass $5.00 per day or $30.00 for a year we can supply that for you. Please remember to always pick up and take home any trash as this will make it nicer for the next visitor.

GREAT NEWS  NEW SNOW FOR SNOWPLAY!!!!!!

I have just returned from the snowplay areas.  Conditions look great maybe the is best this season.  We received 8-10″ of new snow on Wed. of this week.  All road are open and NO tire chains are needed. The sky is bright blue with light wind and temps in the mid 40’s.  So this will be a great weekend to bring the family up to play in the snow.

Another beautiful day

Another beautiful day

Fresh snow in the mountain this week 8-10″.  Roads in the Wrightwood area are open with no chain controls.  This morning is a blue sky, cool temps about 25 this is what is keeping the snow in GREAT condition.

We received some snow overnight

We received about 2″ of snow in the snowplay areas last night.  It is still snowing lightly here this as of 9am.   At this time there are tire chain required about 3 miles east of town.  the weather service is calling for clearing on Sat morning.  Maybe the chain control will be removed by then.

Good Morning

Today is high clouds and temps in the 40-mid 40’s.  All roads are open with no controls so no need for tire chains today.  The weather service is not calling for any weather this weekend.  We did get 4-5″ of snow early this week.  But the snow is thin.  I looked this morning and there are still some areas for snowplay.  The snow also is a bit dirty.
