Lots of new new 24-36″ of new snow in all of the snow play areas west of town.  That’s the good new.  All road are requiring 4×4 or chains.  So today may not be the best day to come up for snow play but maybe look at tomorrow.  The weather service says it should clear latter today.

Good morning.  We are receiving snow this morning with it turning to heavy by this afternoon and tonight.  Tire chains are currently required east of town on Hwy #2 and west of town on Hwy #2 and N4.  So the good new for snow play is that we are getting more snow up to 24″ in the snow play area per the weather service during this storm cycle.  So today would be a good day to stay home and look to come up after the storms end.

We have about 11/2 feet of snow in the snow play areas with another 1″ of snow early this morning.  Currently the temp in in the mid 20’s in the snow play areas and the roads are open but this could change.  The weather service is calling for 2-3 feet of snow this weekend.

Well, we have the tail end of a storm passing by this morning.  So we have clouds over the tops of the mountains.  Temp is in the mid 30’s with wind from 7-10 mph.  The snow in the snow play areas is great with about 3′ of snow.

I have just returned from the snow play areas.  The conditions look great!!!  With all the new snow we received last weekend there still are many places were the snow is still untracked.  The weather should be great with the high temp in the mid 50’s , blue sky and light wind all weekend.  All road are open with no controls.  The only problem will be that there will be lots of other people coming up so I recommend that you plan to arrive in town by 8:30-9am to arrive before the crowds.  It you can not make it that early after about 1pm the crowds thin out so that would also be a good time to come up.

The snow play conditions are the best we have had in a couple of years.  We received up to 3 feet of snow last week in the snow play areas.  so all snow play areas are in great condition.  Also during the week there are very few people so you will have the whole area to yourself.  Also all roads are open and no controls at this time.  Also do not forget we here at Mtn Hardware have a mid week special for you just ask at the counter.

The storm has passed and it is a beautiful day.  Blue sky, light wind and cold temp 17 this morning.  We received 20-24 ” of snow.  So the conditions for snow play will be good for sometime.  So if you are not able to make it up here this weekend there will be plenty of snow next weekend so do not worry.  Also if you can take a day off work and take the kids out of school we have a mid week special here at Mtn Hardware.  Just ask for the mid week special 15% off at the register Monday thru Friday.

Currently there are not any road controls to get to Wrightwood and Big Pines but west of big Pines you will need chains.

We received 18-20″ of snow last night.  So the snow play should be good for sometime.  Currently you will need chain or 4 wheel drive to get here.  So maybe the best idea is to just spend a day at home and let the road conditions improve.  Since we have plenty of snow.
